What was the highlight of your weekend?
“The whole day was pretty much a highlight from the minute we got there around 7:30 in the morning to after the race when they put the car on the trailer. We went into the car hauler, met Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson and a couple of the other drivers. It was an absolute unbelievable experience.”
How was your experience meeting Chase?
“He was very down to earth. He was answering any questions we had and just talk to us. He was a great guy.”
How was the experience sitting on the pit box during the Daytona 500?
“Standing behind the pit wall and watching the race and then seeing the disappointment on what happened was neat. What was really neat was seeing when they got Chase back out on the track, it was like nothing happened. It was more determination. You could just see that they wanted to make sure he finished the race. To watch the pit crew do their jobs and watch them on film to see what they were doing and see how they could better themselves just shows the kind of heart and love that is in that time and I could see from the outside.”
What is your connection with NAPA?
“I have been with NAPA AutoCare going on my fourteenth year. They have always been my first call vendor, and I have been very loyal to them. I don’t know if that has anything to do with getting picked, but it was an honor to get picked. I don’t know what made me so special for them to pick me to do it, but it was unbelievable. I can’t thank you all or NAPA enough for giving me the opportunity to go out there.”
